Julien Picard

Welcome to my website. I am a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics at the London School of Economics. My research combines economic theory and experiments to study pro-environmental policies.

In my Job Market Paper, I am particularly interested in determining whether behavioural policies, like nudges, alter people's participation in other non-targeted pro-environmental behaviours. Indeed, research shows that doing a first climate-friendly action can lead people to do another. I seek to understand whether promoting the initial action with a nudge weakens or amplifies this spillover effect. The study of these side effects is pivotal. Not only does it deepen our understanding of how pro-environmental policies work, but it also illuminates pathways to upscale them successfully.
